June 7 4,000km Caddy Lake Manitoba ON Border

James caught a Pike about 20 inches long, daily limit is 10 Pike, which, based on how much meat comes off them, you would need for one meal! James is now the champion Hamilton fisher.

We finally found a friendly Manitoban, the Park operator was lovely and loved our gift of sand dollars and curly shells. This is Winnipegs cottage country and we were surprised to see that trailers are allowed to set up permanently in provincial parks, half the sites are taken with very established trailer set ups. Despite Manitoba's reputation, bugs have not been a problem at all. Lots of canoe routes and beavers in this area. Geography has changed from open Prairie to a treed rolling landscape of wetlands, lakes and rivers.
